Even on a high-end, large-scale project, the Architects fees are usually a very, very small number compared to the construction cost. The Architects’ fees are fair for the amount of work they do. If you were to compare a good quality building designers’ fees to an Architect’s fee, there is generally little difference. You get what you pay for – so if your designers are low cost, then you are sacrificing quality.

Renovations, additions, alterations are typically the types of projects which can see the largest construction cost blow outs – why? Because a trained professional has not applied their expertise to the project and sort out all the challenges and found all the solutions when it was cheap and easy to do so. Investing in a great design solution upfront has proven again and again to cost you less during the build.

We can create the initial concept designs with days – if we have a well prepared and detailed client brief. Please note that on the majority of projects the design will evolve over a number of weeks as challenges are encountered and solved, or new ideas are injected to achieve the best outcomes. Often a Client needs a period of time to review and consider the concept and how it suits their needs, this can add a good deal of time to the delivery process.
